IOI 2026
Participant workstations and competition tooling.
Overview
Technical contribution as a member of the IOI 2026 HSC. The scope covers Linux environments, participant virtual machines, reference laptop images, debugger configuration and offline resources.
The challenge
Participant machines need reproducible software configurations. GDB, C++ debugging in VS Code, terminal launchers and offline documentation are part of the same workstation setup.
Engineering decisions
Reproducible workstations
The work covers contestant virtual-machine provisioning and a separate physical-laptop golden-image process, with software setup and verification checklists.
Remove friction from debugging
Changes address GDB and VS Code C++ debugging, terminal launchers, desktop behavior and offline resources. The aim is a consistent environment for writing, running and understanding code.
Support the event around the code
Additional tooling includes seat and worker label generation with preview, along with bounded work on translation and ranking integrations. These are specific contributions within the wider technical team.
What it delivers
Contribution to reproducible participant environments and event tools, including label generation and selected translation and ranking integrations. The case describes specific work within the broader technical team.
